Hi! My name is Jack Orcutt, and I am a freshman in the Honors College at the University of Nevada, Reno studying Information Systems in the College of Business. I am a Sacramento, CA native and a recent Magna Cum Laude graduate from Jesuit High School of Sacramento. I am interested in how technology and business connect with each other to make systems more efficient and advanced because I aspire to be a network administrator and architect with a large company that is dedicated to helping people after graduation. I was drawn to business because of its versatility in helping others. The opportunity to access diverse career paths while building valuable professional connections is what ultimately solidified my decision.
I currently work in the Honors College at the University of Nevada, Reno as an Operations Specialist or Front Desk Volunteer greet students, answer phones, redirect messages, and help out with other projects as needed. I also recently became a Nevada Student Ambassador, where I will give tours of campus to prospective students and their families, participate in trips to official university recruitment events, and more.
Outside of work, you can often find me out on adventures with my family and friends exploring the woods, finding the latest and greatest movie to watch, or spending time with my dog. Sometimes, I’ll even be out late at night doing startrail photography with my dad and grandpa.
